Emerging from a journey conducted both separately and together, the potential worlds of two people are brought together in Here, a moment ago. (Worlds that perhaps exist somewhere, sometime.) Sketches, sentences, and conversations that have been shared for a long time transform and meet in the same place. The journeys of two artists from different places come together. Non-real, yet familiar bodies and places communicate. The determined distance and coincidental intersections in their works make the dream of another reality possible. As if we could go there soon. As if we were here a moment ago.
Maya, by looking at herself from a distance with the thought of discovering another world, creates imaginary friends and animated identities. She looks at daily moments and expansive time with a gentle gaze, focusing on silent conversations. She ponders on what it means to be somebody, somewhere.
